Product Owner - SDC Open Banking Platform

SDC is building a state-of-the-art open banking digital platform – do you want to lead the way?

Open Banking is about to change the banking industry and how banks are building IT systems. What was originally just new legislation driving EU banks to open API access to customer’s accounts and payments (PSD2), has now turned into a new paradigm of open banking platforms and soon open finance platforms.

SDC already have a solid foundation for open banking with a cloud-based infrastructure and well-functioning API’s. The next years we will heavily expand this offering starting by assembling an ambitious team who dare think out-of-the-box and set new standards. The journey will be to fully embrace the concept of open banking for the benefit of our banks and their customers.

We will build new API’s exposing key banking services and we will work with FinTech companies targeting the need of our customers. We see this as the future of building bank IT, and if you see the same, maybe you want to join our team?

We are looking for a product owner who can set the vision for the open banking platform and lead the development team to success. You need to be visionary and determined but also able to find solutions and compromises in a complex word.

Value optimizer and a swiss army knife  

The role is multifaceted, covering everything from business strategy to product design. We are in the early phases and this role of Product Owner is the first we hire for – allowing the chosen applicant an active role in setting the right team for success. You will be working closely together with the CTO and the role may evolve as we go along.

The job in brief:  being the Product owner of 3 products: Open API, PSD2 API and Open Banking Developer toolbox. This means defining product and roadmap for the Open Banking products based on user requirements and growth potential. As an experienced PO you already know the tasks – but let’s list a few:

  • Manage and prioritize product backlog for sprint planning
  • Follow market, our competitors, and the banking industry in general to maintain a clear and visionary outlook on how SDC must be positioned going forward
  • Become a liaison between FinTech companies and SDC banks to create business opportunities and new product ideas
  • Triaging of incoming support cases and overseeing resolution in the team

Driven by innovation and digitization – and experience from FinTech and banking

Previous experience from a similar role is required and you need to have a conceptual understanding of API’s, Service Orchestration, Test Automation and Cloud computing. We are looking for someone who is passionate about using technology to improve business outcomes for our customers and have experience managing complex roadmaps working in collaboration with tech, science, UX, business and functional leaders.

A natural interest in technology, standardization, automation, and optimization of processes goes without saying. And you can communicate complex messages and constructively challenge and guide stakeholders.
