Torben Finnemann appointed CEO. SDC's management is expanded
As of today, 1st of September, Torben Finnemann has been appointed as the new CEO of SDC. He takes over from Jesper Scharff, who after more than 10 years at head of SDC has decided to retire.
About his new role and future focus areas, Torben says:
"I have worked at SDC for 10 years as Area Director and know the organization very well. So even though I am new to the job, I am far from new to SDC, and have a deep insight into the opportunities as well as the challenges we face.
Now, I will make use of these insights. Partly to ensure continuation of SDC's many ongoing projects and focus areas, and partly to adjust our efforts where needed.
In addition, the preparation of our forward-looking strategy, which is to take effect from the turn of the year, is another important focus area. An effort planned to be completed during autumn.
And generally, I am looking forward to continuing our efforts to create a great banking experience - and to continue the good cooperation with customers and partners and, not least, all my talented colleagues.
I will focus on further developing the foundation that has been built for SDC. And I will do my part to ensure that SDC continues to be a workplace that attracts the most competent and committed employees in the industry."

Torben Finnemann comes from a position as Area Director in the Advisory, Sales & Core Banking business area (ASCB). Due to the size, character and future growth of the area, the current responsibilities have been transferred to new Area Directors:
Hilde Seljom has been appointed Area Director of a new business area, Advisory & Sales Banking, which is responsible for developing and operating SDC's complete advisory solutions within credit, pension, investment and daily banking.
Hilde Seljom has more than 10 years of experience from the financial and commercial IT sector, including the last five years at SDC.
Niklas Høj has been appointed Area Director of a new business area, Core Business Application & Platform – an area focused on ensuring the stability of the essential Core Platform and supporting the many deliverables in SDC's transverse projects.
Niklas joined SDC in 2017 and has more than 15 years of experience from the financial and commercial IT industry.
As of 1st of September, the two new Area Directors will be part of SDC's management team.
The Customer Migrations & Programs department in ASCB is organizationally transferred to the Sales, Customer Engagement & Shared Services area, reporting to Area Director Stig Valderhaug. The purpose is to achieve increased synergy with other customer-related activities.
